VACANCY – BRAND & COMMUNICATION MANAGER

A. Key Responsibilities

  1. DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE COMMUNICATION STRATEGY
  • Develops and manages the brand strategy and its positioning.
  • Develops the brand communication strategy in collaboration with the ATL agency, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and full alignment with Top Management
  • Collaborates with the ATL agency to develop the media strategy and ensures its successful execution, including media planning, media buying, and media monitoring activities.
  • Directs and develops the below-the-line (BTL) strategy of the company.
  • Having a well-defined and aggressive communication strategy on digital platforms and social media (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Ensures the development of properties that are tailored to the Burundian environment while maintaining perfect alignment with the group.
  • Analyzes and proposes sponsorship activities that have the potential to enhance the brand image and market position of Econet in Burundi.
  • Is responsible for the marketing budget related to the brand and ensures that the brand’s key performance indicators (KPIs) are on track and achieving positive results.
  1. BRAND AND POSITIONING MANAGEMENT AND 360°COMMUNICATION
  • Acts as the custodian of the Econet brand by ensuring the adherence to its attributes and proper usage in all activities where Econet is involved.
  • Establishes the objectives and communication strategies for the Econet brand in collaboration with the Marketing Director, with the aim of ensuring their achievement in key performance indicators (KPIs) of the brand.
  • Contributes to the optimization of marketing budgets.
  • Is responsible for fostering strong collaboration with partners.
  • Plans, implements, and monitors media plans (TV, radio, and outdoor) aligned with the company’s marketing plans at national and zonal levels, while adhering to brand and Econet group standards, hierarchical directives, and best practices in the profession.
  • Ensures adherence to agreed-upon deadlines in the development of campaigns through effective and efficient working relationships with the agency.
  • Is responsible for implementing the brand standards at the below-the-line (BTL) level, including direct communication to subscribers, planning sponsorship activities, and managing events.
  • Is also responsible for ensuring the quality of production materials in alignment with group directives, and for maintaining brand health through efficient execution.
  • Ensures the effective execution of all communication activities, both internally and externally, at an operational level within and outside the company.
  • Ensures the proper execution of mailing and SMS distribution plans and oversees the updating of commercial communications on the company’s website and/or partner websites.
  • Ensures the application of communication standards under their responsibility, including the selection of media channels, messaging, design, usage guidelines, and time-to-market considerations.
  1. MANAGEMENT OF MARKET RESEARCH INFORMATION AND RESULTS AND REPORTING
  • Ensures the monitoring of actions and recommendations from market studies and brand awareness research.
  • Must ensure effective competitive monitoring and regular collection of relevant market information in a timely manner, in order to guide and support decision-making processes.
  • Weekly and monthly reports on activities.
  • Weekly reports on job requests.
  • Sharing market research reports with other departments.

B. Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (BAC+4) in Marketing, Commerce, or Business Management
  • Strong experience in Marketing/Communication, with an advantage in digital transformation and management of new technologies
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good knowledge of GSM network technologies
  • Strong written and oral English skills.

C. Experience 

  • At least 3 years’ experience
  • Evidence of success in leading and directing research activities in an ‘open innovation’ or collaborative environment.
  • Ability to develop communication strategies and methods for monitoring and evaluation of their impact.
  • Experience of design and implementation of organisational structures, particularly for knowledge exchange and strategic innovation management.
  • Experienced contract execution including performance measurement and quality control for the provision of professional services.
  • Proven ability to analyse and present clearly at the highest level complex information with good attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to adapt to different work environments.
