JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Coordinate the overall reconciliation function of the bank through engagement with branches, business units and central reconciliation unit for daily reversal of suspense items 
  • Work with reconciliation teams in units and branches for submission of monthly suspense returns by 7th of every month for onward submission to management.
  • Development of processes, reports and systems to facilitate ongoing improvement in efficiency and quality of suspense reconciliations.
  • Act as representative of finance department for projects and change processes impacting reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure proper back up records of Reconciliation returns for the bank.
  • Liaison with KCB Group Central Reconciliation team for reports submission and resolution of suspense items.
  • Ensure monthly reconciliation of Bankers cheque, payroll, intercompany, coupons receivable suspense accounts. 
  • Ensure reconciliation of general suspense debit, general suspense credit and all accounts designated as other assets and liabilities. 
  • Ensure timely closure of internal and external audit issues relating to suspense account management.
  • Reconciliation of the banks tariff and system tariff recommend sealing any income leakages for digital banking and card business.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • University degree in Business Accounting or related degree 
  • Master's in Finance will be added as advantage. 
  • Professional experience is three years with minimum Two (3) in Banking Operations: One Year (1) Reconciliation suspense account; One (1yr) in Management report Preparation and Presentation, One (1yr) in analytical review.
  • Excellent planning, organization and Business report writing skills.
  • Excellent the ability to anticipate issues and to design appropriated solutions.
  • Effective business writing and professional communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and forecasting skills; must also have strong attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated competencies in championing high performance.
