JOB PURPOSE

Weza Power is a new electricity distribution utility in Burundi, created from the unique, large-scale Public-Private-Partnership between Virunga Power and the Government of Burundi in the form of a long-term design-build-finance-operate-transfer concession. Our goal is to accelerate electrification across Burundi through the rapid expansion of the electricity distribution network, targeting up to 70% (or more) of the population with grid access by 2030.                  

           We are currently looking for 10 Enumerators who will be responsible for identifying and analyzing potential customers in designated rural areas of Burundi. His or her role will involve gathering and categorizing demographic and business data to create a comprehensive customer database. The candidate will have experience in data collection and management, and the ability to categorize and segment customers effectively. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

• • Identify and evaluate potential customers within the four pilot feeders.
• • Gather and analyse demographic data, including population statistics, household characteristics, and commercial/industrial activities.
• • Categorize potential customers into different segments such as residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
• • Assess and record energy consumption levels, geographic locations, and unique business or operational characteristics.
• • Collect detailed customer information including names, addresses, contact details, and GIS coordinates.
• • Gather data on anticipated future energy needs and growth plans of potential customers.
• • Record relevant business or household characteristics.
• • Develop and maintain a comprehensive customer database to store and manage collected data.
• • Implement and maintain data management systems and procedures to ensure the accuracy, security, and reliability of customer information.
• • Develop data input templates and protocols to streamline data collection and entry processes.
• • Communicate findings and updates to relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Minimum Secondary education or vocational training.

Experience

• Experience in data collection and management, and the ability to categorize and segment customers effectively.

• • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• • Knowledge of French language, Kirundi and/or English is an advantage.

WORKING CONDITIONS

It will be a field work; the applicants will be traveling to Bujumbura Rural/ Bubanza / Gitega / Ngozi.
