Under the overall delegated authority of the Director/Head of the Office and the direct supervision of the Finance and Administrative Officer, the incumbent provides a series of administrative support services in compliance with UNESCO Rules and Regulations, practices, standards and procedures.

UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, pension plan etc.

Le Bureau de Bujumbura dépend du bureau multi-pays de l'UNESCO pour l'Afrique de l'Est à Nairobi.
Il relaie l'action de l'UNESCO et ses objectifs dans l'éducation, les sciences naturelles, les sciences humaines et sociales, la culture, la communication et l'information.
En fournirssant une réponse intellectuelle et humaniste à la mondialisation et aux situations d'urgence, le bureau représente l'UNESCO dans le transfert des connaissances nécessaires pour influencer le développement durable des cadres juridiques, politiques et de mise en œuvre au Burundi.
