Position: Core Network Engineer

Location: Bujumbura, Burundi  


Job Summary

Our Client is an International telecommunication company supporting Mobile Network Service providers in Burundi.

The Core Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining uptime and quality of the network (both media and equipment) segment assigned to him/her by undertaking periodic preventive maintenance activities. He/she should ensure effective fault management in case of fault occurrence and periodic upgrades, capacity augmentation of the core network as per plan, with no/ minimal disruption.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Deliver Core network projects like CS, PS, IMS, HSS etc., delivery. 
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize core network infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Analyse customer requirements and existing systems to design and recommend effective network solutions.
  • Conduct technical presentations and actively participate in discussions with clients and stakeholders.
  • Perform network planning, performance monitoring, and continuous optimization of core systems.


Education Qualification and Experience

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field.
  • Over 2 years' experience in core network,
  • Good at core network products like CS, PS, IMS, HSS etc. Have knowledge of IP data network  
  • Good troubleshooting skills, such that faults are promptly identified and rectified to meet the required SLAs.
  • Successful applicants should be goal-oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills, and be a very good team player.
  • A successful applicant should be good at customer relationships, understanding their requirement. A good team player and able to work effectively. 
  • Capable of taking responsibility for leading the team in the technical part and able to work with minimal supervision.
