The job holder will be responsible for analyzing and approving credit applications within granted discretion, Bank’s policies, BRB Prudential guidelines, best practices and making recommendations on review of lending products, credit processes and policies to support the growth of the facilities asset book in a sustainable and effective way.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- - Ensure that there are continuous recommendations on new product development, credit policies/manual/procedural standards review and staff development;
- - Ensure that branches follow the bank’s credit policy and manual, BRB guidelines and best practice in appraisal, recommendations and conduct of credit facilities;
- - Ensure customer complaints on credit matters pertaining cases you have handled and other assigned are effectively addressed;
- - Ensure individual & end-to-end TAT, Vintage, NPL and migration of credit facilities are within the Bank’s targets through high standard of analysis for informed decisions;
- - Being responsible for doing the MPR return by 10th day monthly and any other report reassigned by line manager;
- - Ensuring that there are no multiple customer profiles and where you encounter any mark it off, then initiate appropriate disciplinary action against the errant staff;
- - Maintain friendly and appealing communication within and without the Unit in dealing with Branches/units, colleagues and customers;
- - Keep high level of consultations at all times as you may deem necessary;
- - Correct irregularities highlighted in the last Credit Audits to ensure 100% closure;
- - Maintain effective monitoring mechanisms on entire Bank portfolio performance based on laid standards, with a view to making appropriate recommendations on the target markets;
THE PERSON:
For the above position, the successful applicant should have:
- - University Degree from a recognized institution in Accounting, Finance, Economics and Statistics
- - Professional qualification in CFA, CPB, CPA or equivalent as added advantage.
- - Minimum of five (3) years’ experience in Relationship Management
- - Customer Service Skills
- - Consistent knowledge on Risk Management, Product Development, Credit and Lending, Financial Analysis, Trade Finance, Leasing, Structured Finance, Legal requirements, policies and procedures, People Management Skills
- - Computer Literacy
- - Excellent communication and project management skills
- - A dynamic, proactive, decisive person, who can be a change agent.
