The Development and Operations Manager will drive Menya Accelerator’s organizational growth by leading strategic planning, program innovation, and team management. This role combines strategic oversight with operational leadership, ensuring the organization’s initiatives align with its mission while achieving maximum impact.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in strategic planning, organizational development, and team leadership, with a passion for entrepreneurship and community development.


Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning and Development:

○ Lead the design and execution of the organization’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with Menya Accelerator’s mission and goals.

○ Identify funding opportunities and lead the development of grant applications, sponsorship proposals, and other fundraising initiatives to support program sustainability and growth.

○ Conduct market research and stakeholder analyses to inform strategic decisions.

○ Develop actionable plans and timelines for achieving strategic objectives.


2. Team Leadership and Coordination:

○ Manage a team of staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.

○ Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure seamless program delivery and organizational operations.

○ Facilitate regular team meetings and provide clear direction to achieve project milestones.


3. Programs Development and Innovation:

○ Oversee the creation and implementation of the programs.

○ Collaborate with the team to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.


4. Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement:

○ Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international partners, funders, and stakeholders.

○ Represent Menya Accelerator at events, conferences, and meetings to promote the organization’s mission and secure new opportunities.


5. Program Evaluation and Monitoring

○ Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness, ensuring alignment with Menya Accelerator’s strategic objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).

○ Analyze data and generate reports to provide actionable insights, measure program impact, and support continuous improvement in program delivery.


Qualifications

● Degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Strategic Planning, or a related field.

● At least 5 years in strategic planning, organizational development, or team management.

● Strong communication, and analytical skills.

● Visionary thinker, results-driven, and highly organized.

● Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

● Fluency in English, French and Kirundi.

Contract Duration

This is a one-year fixed-term position starting in 2025, with the potential for renewal contingent upon performance and the availability of funding.
