About the role
The role sits in the International Development Programme role family and is based in the Burundi Country Office. The role is responsible for managing all health-related projects. It also involves appraising, monitoring, and reviewing partners’ projects and programmes and offering technical support while at the same time strengthening the relations between CA and its partners in the health area.
The position holder is responsible of managing the health portfolio and develop it according to the country strategy and global strategy.
The owner of the position has the role of all health-related projects and advocacy endeavours of the organization in the sector.
The post holder is responsible for supporting Christian Aid's portfolio of partnerships and projects related to health, nutrition within CA Burundi Program:
To support the development of Christian Aid health program policy and strategy by providing the programme team with partner feedback.
To contribute to the representation of Christian Aid at country/regional/divisional level.
To shoulder responsibility for the capacity-building of partners.
To help ensure that health projects resources and planned project activities are undertaken within budget and time frame which enable impact and direct benefit to target communities.
To work with the country /thematic programme management team to support delivery of projects to the highest standards possible and in line with the country, divisional and organisational strategy in health.
To act as the interface between participating partners and Christian Aid and/or donors including coordinating feedback, representation in key stakeholders’ meetings and contributing to strengthening of partner relationships
To participate in identification, documentation of advocacy needs in the health sector
About you
Relations
External: Builds a network of internal and external contacts and/or maintain established relationships with representatives of external bodies on behalf of Christian Aid.
Internal: Will be involved in developing new relationships requiring skills in advising, guiding, discussing, and developing shared understanding of the health sector based on context evolution.
Decision making: Activities or decisions impact on the effectiveness of operations internally and/or quality of service within a department, or the department’s ability to meet specific departmental objectives
Analytical skills: Tasks involve analysis and choosing between options, where the solution is not always obvious and where considerable initiative and judgement is required.

Christian Aid Burundi est basé à Bujumbura. Leur équipe comprend neuf personnes possédant une expérience significative en programmation. Ils tirent également parti de l’expertise de collègues de leur siège britannique, d’autres équipes de Christian Aid en Afrique et dans le monde et des réseaux d’ONG Internationales au Burundi.
Christian Aid est présent au Burundi depuis 1995. Initialement créé pour fournir une assistance humanitaire visant à rétablir la dignité des survivants des conflits civils, en particulier des femmes et des enfants, le programme s’est tourné désormais vers le développement.
Leur objectif est de lutter contre les causes profondes de la pauvreté par le biais de projets de gouvernance et de lutte contre la propagation du VIH et la stigmatisation et la discrimination qui en découlent.
