Initiates and monitor staff attitude surveys exercises once every three years.
Spearheads initiatives aimed at enhancing good working relations, such as staff meetings, social events, etc.
2. Policies and Procedures
Supports line managers to understand and implement company’s human resource long and short term objectives, policies and procedures.
Develops communication approaches to ensure human resource policies are adequately communicated to all staff across the company.
Drafts the Recruitment Policy for approval by the Head, human resources.
3. Job Analysis and Evaluation
Researches and Recommends appropriate job evaluation systems to be used by the company from time to time
Develops job descriptions and maintain an updated job description manual for each role in the company which .feeds into the grading system by the head human resources
4. Recruitment, Selection and Induction
Actively manages the recruitment process, liaises with business heads to get their recruitment needs, plans and executes the process.
Reviews departmental staffing requirements in liaison with departmental line management.
Prepares job adverts and advertises internally.
Facilitates approval of external job adverts for advertising through the newspaper and employment agencies.
Short lists candidates in liaison with departmental line management and schedules interviews for the same
Selects the interview panel in liaison with the departmental line managers.
Arranges and conducts panel interviews and identifies the suitable candidate(s)
Checks and verifies candidate qualifications, criminal record and conducts reference checks (where applicable)
Facilitates pre-employment medical assessments for successful candidates.
Drafts offer letters for successful candidates for approval by the GM – HR.
Develops the induction Programme and ensures that the same is adhered to.
5. Succession Planning
Working with the Learning & Development coordination to ensure that all key positions in the company are appropriately manned that successors to current incumbents have been identified.
B. EDUCATION
A University Degree in either Social Science or Business Studies
A Master Degree would be an added advantage
Professional training/certification in human resources will be an added advantage
C. EXPERIENCE
At least 6 – 8 years working experience in a Human Resources Management environment.
D. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good knowledge of labour legislation
Well-developed counselling skills
Good knowledge of employment labour laws.
Business knowledge.
Good Leadership and people management skills
