ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks highly qualified candidates to serve as Laboratory/Pharmacy Lead. Working under the guidance and direction of the Technical Director based in Bujumbura for the RISE project in Burundi, the Laboratory and Pharmacy lead will oversee the implementation of HIV-related laboratory activities including HIV testing, Early Infant Diagnosis (EID), VL testing, other HIV-related core laboratory testing services, comprehensive specimen referral and pharmacy activities of the RISE-Burundi project. S/he will provide technical and operational guidance and oversight to the regional teams and laboratory officers at the provincial level, district, and site level, liaising with partners and local organizations.

ICAP seeks highly qualified and experienced candidates to fill the Laboratory/Pharmacy Lead position by October 2022. The successful candidate will hold a Medical Doctor, Master’s in Medical Laboratory Sciences, or its equivalent; a Master of Public Health is an added advantage and at least 5 years’ experience in laboratory practice in the Health Sector preferably at a national level, and with experience in HIV-related assays.
The incumbent will have a demonstrated track record working on US Government-supported PEPFAR programs including program planning, monitoring and evaluation. The Laboratory/ Pharmacy Lead will also have experience working effectively as a part of diverse staff teams, and contributing to successful collaborations with donors, host-country ministries of health, and civil society.
The position is contingent upon availability of grant funding.
