About the job

A. Key Responsibilities1. Product, Services & Innovation

  • Executes the EcoCash product development & services roadmap.
  • Develops the EcoCash projects & handles information and knowledge management issues.
  • Works with design and engineering teams and vendors to develop innovative and breakthrough solutions.
  • Works with vendors on designed products and specifications within acceptable timetables.
  • Works with operations, sales, customer care to derive key insights from customers and translate them into cutting edge, high quality products to internal and external customers.
  • Supports market intelligence efforts and proposes product adjustments accordingly.

2. Product Development Roadmap Planning & Implementation

  • Executes scheduled deployments of new products, features, and enhancements on EcoCash.
  • Manages the interface dependencies with IS, Networks, VAS, TPS, Comviva and other vendors to identify resources required for product development projects.
  • Liaises with EcoCash system vendors and ecosystem players (for integrations) to ensure alignment of project tasks and activities.
  • Manages and coordinates post-implementation reviews after system enhancements and new products are introduced.
  • Prepares technical documents and architecture for new products and ideas for planning purposes.

3. Product Development & Integration, Software Development Management

  • Conducts research on new technologies for mobile money and payments.
  • Leads integrations with banks, payment service providers, merchants, billers, agents, etc., to achieve interoperability on the EcoCash product.
  • Manages and refines initial designs by product development engineers; delivers technical specs and procedures to business & operations teams; reviews functional specification documents.
  • Represents EcoCash in technical and product meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifies and recommends solutions for issues affecting EcoCash features and services and charts the best way to integrate with third parties.


B. Education

Minimum requirement: University degree with 3 Advanced Level Passes


C. Experience

  • 4-10 years’ work experience in payments and financial services domain, including at least 2 years at senior level within mobile financial services and banking.
  • Proven skills to facilitate all job requirements with reference projects completed.
  • Sound knowledge of mobile money, VAS, technology, payment services, and platforms.


D. Competencies

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team player skills with ability to work cross-functionally (business, design, operations, finance, technical).
  • Experience in negotiation and management; adaptable to a constantly changing environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering functional products and services.
  • Innovative, technical, and a knowledge worker.
