Liaises with business heads to develop business risk indicators and risk management strategy
Develops policies and procedures that are aligned to the corporate policies and procedures
Directs the assessment and evaluation of enterprise-wide business and fraud risks within the company and facilitates development of appropriate risk responses
Leads in risk evaluation, which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the company such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors, and evaluating the organisation’s previous handling of risks
INTERNAL CONTROLS FRAMEWORK
Reviews internal audit, investigation and quality work done and reports related to processes/ activities/ departments reviewed and proposes new controls, methods, processes, procedures, flow of information/ documents (through agreed recommendations) to improve efficiency and to minimize business risks
Monitors quality objectives and proposes corrective / preventive actions necessarily for main business processes and Quality Management System continual improvement
Supports the business heads in the development and implementation of continual improvement of applications for monitoring of business performance
Identifies compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation and leads in the investigation of the same, and makes recommendation to management.
RISK AWARENESS
Coordinates with various departments/functional units to identify priority processes and formulization and establishment of associated KPIs at various levels in line with the corporate objectives.
Develops tactical plans to ensure achievement of risk and compliance corporate strategies
Disseminates written policies and procedures related to compliance activities to staff.
LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT
Leads in risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences, such as, to the board of directors so as to understand the most significant risks, to business heads to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the business and to individuals to understand their accountability for individual risks
Maintains documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes
Provides employee training on compliance related topics, policies, or procedures in liaison with Legal and HR departments
Designs and implements improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards in liaison with legal department
Education
A University Degree in a technical field, IT, Business Systems or related field
A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
Professional qualification – Certified Information Systems Internal Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Public Accountant is highly desirable.
Experience
At least 5 – 10 years working experience in an Audit environment, 5 of which should have been in information security management or related function (IT Audit, IT risk management).
Detailed working knowledge of GSM as well as IT Network.
