Context
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, under the direct supervision of the Head of Sub Office
and with technical supervision of the DoE Coordinator the successful candidate will responsible and
accountable for supporting the implementation and monitoring of programme activities related to
community stabilization, socioeconomic reintegration and peacebuilding.
FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist the TRD Officer and TRD Project Assistant in Gitega developing scopes of work, schedules, and
cost estimates for activities, with a focus on community stabilization, socioeconomic reintegration
and peacebuilding;
2. Support the implementation of all community stabilization, socioeconomic reintegration and
peacebuilding project activities;
3. Conduct market assessments and needs and field assessments with host community, IDPs, refugees
and returnees and select beneficiaries for activities according to the selection criteria
4. Assist the TRD Officer in identifying partners and generating opportunities for joint action with NGOs,
local authorities, community representatives, professional associations and private sector partners;
5. Support in the payment and other administrative matters pertaining to the implementation of
reintegration interventions;
6. Contribute to implementing the integrated mechanism for data collection, information management
and monitoring and evaluation for IOM’s TRD Program activities to ensure accurate and reliable data
is collected, stored, and submitted in a timely manner to be further processed, in coordination with
IOM managers.
7. Contribute to the effective use of the designated information systems, including offline and online
platforms, application tools, and other systems to manage the implementation of information
management mechanism.
8. Conduct regular monitoring, and data collection as per agreed timelines of ongoing and closed field
activities; and prepare activities status and progress reports, in coordination with IOM managers.
9. Report progress of the activities as well as any deviations and challenges encountered during
implementation to the TRD Project Officer;
10. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education
• University degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Media or Social Sciences or a
related field with two years of relevant professional experience. Or;
Completed high school degree from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant
professional experience.
Experience
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Reintegration, Livelihoods, Social Cohesion,
Peacebuilding or Community Stabilization projects
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Information Management and Monitoring and Evaluation
• Knowledge of the region and of the actors is a distinct advantage
• Previous experience liaising with local authorities is a distinct advantage
• Good computer skills (MS Office programs)
• Knowledge of database application and management is an advantage
• Experience in working in an international environment and/or with UN projects is highly desirable
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
• Flexibility, tolerance and capacity to work in a team
• Ability to perform duties as a polyvalent staff
Required languages
• Fluency in French, Kirundi is required.
• Knowledge of English is an added advantage

The appointment is subject to funding confirmation.
Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment, accreditation,
