PURPOSE OF POSITION (Position will be located mandatory at Muyinga Province)

Promote high levels of accountability and stewardship of stores and ensure effective warehouse management in accordance with organizational systems, procedures and guidelines.

Work hand in hand with the Cluster Accountant to ensure proper counting, receipt and dispatches of office and GIK supplies according to dispatch authorization.

To receive good items in warehouse and ensure they are counted

Check and inspect goods received and ensuring they are of accurate quantity, type, and also acceptable quality

Accuracy of quantity and quality of goods received

Ensure proper storing for easy access and accountability.

Supervise the maintenance of generator and escalate any potential risks to Cluster management for investigation and resolution.

Cluster is using the generator in good condition

Update stock cards and on ledger book and ensure reconciliation on daily basis.

Ensure proper filing and custody of all warehouse documents

Prepare goods received notes on receipt of goods and seek approvals in a timely manner.

Work with the field PC to ensure that delivery of goods is met as required.

Ensure that all items received in the stores are free from any damage or waste and report any obsolescence of goods to the Cluster Accountant.

Damaged goods are timely reported

Maintain high levels of warehouse cleanness/tidiness and orderly storage of stock at all times and reconciliation of documents done every day.

The warehouse is always clean

Support the HGSF warehouse supervisor to manage the WFP food items warehouse

The HGSF warehouse assistant is supported in the HGSF warehouse management whenever required

Ensure the disposal of damaged supplies following authorization.

Disposal of damaged goods approved

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • A degree in Business Administration or related field required

  • 2 years of experience in Warehouse Management in INGO

  • English, French and Kirundi are required

Other Competencies/Attributes:

  • Knowledge in storekeeping, bookkeeping, clearing, forwarding and dispatch

  • Logistics planning skills and ability to follow health & safety practices

  • Must have analytical skills and attention to details

  • Must be a reliable and honest individual

  • Must be able to work under pressure

  • Extreme flexibility, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations

  • Computer Proficiency/MS word &MS Excel

Work Environment:

  • Work environment: Office-based with travel to the NO when called upon

  • Travel: 20% Domestic travelling

  • On call: 10%

Historique

World Vision travaille au Burundi depuis plus de cinq décennies.

Les équipes de World Vision ont commencé à travailler au Burundi en 1963. Leurs opérations se sont arrêtées vers la fin des années 1980 mais ont repris en 1993, en réponse aux besoins humanitaires pressants provoqués par les troubles civils généralisés. En 1995, ils ouvert leur bureau à Bujumbura.

Au cours des 30 dernières années, leur travail, qui consistait à fournir des secours d'urgence, est passé d'investir dans des programmes de développement à long terme.

Actuellement, leur personnel et leurs programmes apportent espoir et aide aux enfants et aux communautés à travers le pays grâce à un large éventail de projets intégrés et holistiques. Ils travaillent avec ceux qui sont les plus vulnérables - les pauvres et les opprimés - sans distinction de religion, de race, d’origine ethnique ou de sexe.

À ce jour, World Vision apporte espoir et assistance à plus de 1 000 000 enfants (dont plus de 40 000 sont des enfants parrainés) et à leurs communautés dans le cadre de 18 programmes de développement régional (ADP) chaque année.
