About us:

As a Christ-centered organization, AMAZI WATER is the primary implementer of Burundian water projects, working to provide sustainable access to clean water in every community by 2028.


About the role:

The Human Resources Coordinator will be instrumental in supporting various HR functions and initiatives while providing administrative support to all employees and playing a pivotal role in fostering a positive employee experience.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for all new employees.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in our HRIS system, including personal information, employment history, and performance evaluations.
  • Support the performance management process by administering performance evaluations and providing guidance to managers and employees.
  • Develop, update and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs and initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify training needs and coordinate training programs accordingly.
  • Oversee the completion of payroll, track, reconcile & update benefits statement, employment status, and similar records
  • Assist with HR reporting and analytics to track key HR metrics and trends, providing insights for decision-making purposes.
  • Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, schedule meetings, HR events and maintain agendas.
  • Ensure compliance with the Labor Law and other regulations
  • Supervise and coordinate HR activities in the absence of the HR Manager, ensuring continuity and efficiency in HR operations.
  • Perform any other duties as required.


REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:


Educational level & experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in HR or related roles, with a solid understanding of HR best practices and employment laws.
  • HR certification is a plus.


Role-Specific Knowledge & Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal and outstanding communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work autonomisly with great organizational and time management skills
  • Strong decision-making, problem solving and meticulous attention to detail
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality and integrity, and an ability to manage diplomatically complex HR situations
  • Computer literate with profenciency in Microsoft Office Suite and email communication


Core Competencies:

  • Understanding of general Human Resources policies and procedures
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Familiarity using HR software and tools would be an advantage.
  • Driving license is a plus

  • Ability to communicate with government offices and partners.

Amazi Water est une ONG basée à Bujumbura, au Burundi. En tant qu'organisation centrée sur le Christ, Amazi Water est le principal maître d'œuvre des projets d'eau au Burundi, s'efforçant de fournir un accès durable à l'eau potable dans chaque communauté d'ici 2028. Après avoir appris que les principales organisations caritatives internationales de l’eau ne travaillaient pas au Burundi car il n’y avait pas de partenaires efficaces dans le pays, les fondateurs ont décidé de créer la première et la seule organisation nationale dédiée à l’eau au Burundi – maintenant appelée Amazi Water. Amazi Water travaille en partenariat avec d'autres ONG et organisations confessionnelles basées au Burundi afin de fournir des solutions d'eau potable à long terme à l'ensemble du Burundi d'ici 2028. Les fondateurs et les membres du conseil d'administration de Amazi Water sont des chrétiens engagés, qui croient que ce projet existe pour servir notre Seigneur et Sauveur Jésus-Christ en partageant l'Évangile et en considérant les pauvres.
