In Burundi and beyond, Linux powers the core infrastructure of most modern organizations, from servers and cloud platforms to networking and DevOps environments. Yet, many IT professionals still lack the hands-on Linux system administration skills essential to maintain and secure these systems.

This course bridges that gap.
Whether you work in the public sector, an NGO, a telecom, or a financial institution, this intensive training is designed to equip IT professionals with the practical skills to confidently manage and troubleshoot enterprise Linux systems.

  • Installing, configuring, and managing Linux servers
  • Working with the command line, file systems, and user permissions
  • Automating tasks with Bash, Python, and PowerShell
  • Configuring secure remote access (SSH), system monitoring, and logging
  • Managing services, system updates, and package management
  • Introduction to enterprise tools: Ansible, systemd, firewalld, etc.
  • Practical lab-based exercises simulating real-world IT environments; etc.

🔹 Requirements

To benefit fully from this training, participants should:

  • Be currently working in IT or computer literate with relevant IT degree or diploma
  • Have at least basic English level (training content is bilingual: French + English support)
  • Have introductory knowledge of scripting—preferably in Python and/or PowerShell
  • (Optional but helpful): Familiarity with networking concepts and virtualization tools (e.g., VirtualBox, VMware)
  • Be able to bring a personal laptop (minimum 8GB RAM, 64-bit CPU) for hands-on labs
  • Complete a pre-training setup checklist (e.g., install VirtualBox, download Linux ISO, ...), instructions provided upon registration

 

🔹 Training Schedule

Location: Bujumbura (on-site), with optional remote participation

This training follows a flexible scheduling to cater for busy professional. It will be delivered in different batches between 02 July 2025 and 15 December 2025. Sessions will be arranged in coordination with participating companies or based on individual availability.

🔹 Certification

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion in Enterprise Linux System Administration, issued by Ignis Ascend.
