The local Association is non-profit organization that has the mission to provide quality, adaptable, locally made wheelchairs tailored to each beneficiary’s need.
Position Purpose
- • The Project Coordinator will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all activities related to the organization’s mission to distribute locally sourced pediatric wheelchairs.
- • The Project Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing daily operations, fostering relationships with stakeholders, and identifying new opportunities for growth.
- • This role requires a highly organized, proactive individual who is passionate about improving accessibility and mobility for children with disabilities.
Key Responsabilities
- • Oversee the manufacturing and distribution process to ensure timely delivery of high- quality pediatric wheelchairs.
- • Develop and implement outreach strategies to connect with beneficiaries and ensure their needs are met effectively.
- • Coordinate beneficiaries’ identification, wheelchair fittings, and follow-ups with recipients.
- • Oversee the manufacturing and distribution process to ensure timely delivery of high- quality pediatric wheelchairs.
- • Develop and implement outreach strategiesto connect with beneficiaries and ensure their needs are met effectively.
- • Coordinate beneficiaries’ identification, wheelchair fittings, and follow-ups with recipients.
- • Identify and establish relationships with potential partners, including local organizations, businesses, healthcare providers, and government agencies.
- • Production of grant proposals, sponsorship requests, and donor outreach materials.
- • Building and maintaining relationships with donors and stakeholders to secure ongoing support.
- • Build awareness about the organization’s mission and the importance of accessible mobility for children with disabilities, including online community engagement.
- • Prepare and monitor budgets for projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
- • Maintain accurate records of expenditures, grants, and donor contributions.
- • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for the organization and its programs.
- • Manage all documentation, including beneficiary records, contracts, and reports.
- • Prepare regular progressreportsfor the executive committee and other stakeholders.
- • Identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to enhance program effectiveness.
- • Represent the organization or program in local and international events.
Qualifications and Experiences
- • Bachelor’s degree in social work, business administration, public health or a related field.
- • A master’s degree would be an advantage.
- • At least 2 years of experience in project coordination, nonprofit management, or a similar role.
- • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- • Proficiency in English, French and Kirundi.
- • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- • Experience in community outreach, partnership development, or advocacy.
- • Passion for working with children with disabilities and improving accessibility.
