VACANCY – Roaming & INTERCO Manager

 

A. Key Responsibilities

Review of Interconnect Agreements and Offers

  • · Examines and evaluates termination, interconnect, and roaming destinations 
  • · Examines and evaluates all commercial offers 
  • · Reviews all commercial agreements to ensure that they are up-to-date and viable for the business

Tariff Management 

  • · Recommends to the Business a review of international and roaming tariffs in line with international market forces
  • · Ensures that international termination and interconnect fees are in the best interest of the company

 Traffic Routing

  • · In conjunction with the technical staff, initiates routing arrangements and routes expansion
  • · Liaise with technical staff on quality of service for corrective action according to set KPIs and business strategy

Internal Coordination of Interconnect Issues

  • · Coordinates and liaises with other departments at management level
  • · Ensures receipt and payments are compliant to contract terms
  • · Advises legal department on interconnect disputes
  • · Is responsible for international, interconnect and roaming budgets

Relationship Building: International and Local

  • · Acts as EWB’s external window
  • · Participates in international and local events, which have to do with International services, interconnection, and roaming services development
  • · Attends local regulatory meetings and functions

Management of Regulatory Issues

  • · Ensures that International Regulations are discharged by:
    •  i. Ensures finance pays and receives payments on time;
    •  ii. Ensures that international accounts are exchanged as per set regulations;
    •  iii. Ensures that International Carriers are informed of any changes to the Network
  • · Together with the legal team, ensures local regulations are followed
  • · Coordinates and follows – up License applications and GSMA regulations

 Policy Recommendation

Recommends policies relating to interconnection, international and roaming after analysing international market trends

Reporting

  • Produces management reports
  • Checks monthly reports and statistical returns from subordinates for accuracy and ensures that they are submitted as per management schedule

 Performance Management and Staff Motivation

  • Plans training schemes for staff and ensuring that staff obtain the skills necessary to perform their duties
  • Maintains a well-trained, highly efficient and professional team
  • Motivates staff by holding regular meeting to brief them on new development and attends to staff grievances
  • Carries out Performance Appraisal for subordinates, and identifies training and development needs

 

Education

University Degree with a strong bias towards Marketing, Business Studies or Accounting or related equivalent


Experience 

Not less than 6-8 years in a Telecom organisation of which at least 3 years must be at senior level possibly in an International or Interconnect Department
