INTRODUCTION

Save the Children International (SCI) is the world's largest independent children's rights organization. Save the Children implements development and humanitarian aid programs in Burundi.

Save the Children works in Burundi in partnership with the Burundian government and local stakeholders to promote a better future for children. We have experience across the country. Our main areas of intervention are child protection, gender-based violence prevention & response, child rights governance, health and nutrition both in humanitarian and development contexts’’


KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Sourcing

  • Compile fully signed FWAs and share with Supply Chain Officer for publishing in ProSave
  • Support with draft catalogue generation for upload in ProSave
  • Support with vetting and  Registration of Suppliers in Prosave
  • Assist in contract management, negotiations, and supplier performance tracking.
  • Support in preparing procurement sourcing reports and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery time.
  • Support the procurement process, including request for quotations (RFQs), tenders, vendor selection, and purchase order/FWA preparation.
  • Through guidance of Supply Chain Officer, obtain quotations or supply bids in line with SC procurement thresholds and policy.
  • Complete competitive bid analysis and obtain required approvals as per the Supply chain manual 
  • Support in processing invoice payments, ensure all stages of the procurement checklist have been completed, and pass to Supply Chain Coordinator for review and sharing with finance.

Filing systems

  • Make sure that all Supply Chain documents, policies, waivers, and contracts are correctly filed in the open and closed procurement files, in consecutive number.

Good Distribution Practices Clauses

  • To ensure that all operations relating to the procurement, storage, handling, and distribution of medicines are in line with Good Distribution Practice Regulations. 
  • To follow and implement Good Distribution Practice Procedures and report any deviations to the Responsible Person/Quality Manager.
  • To carry out investigations as required by the Responsible Person/Quality Manager. 
  • To contribute to the continuous improvement activities for Good Distribution Practice


QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or another related area 
  • Professional qualification in Supply Chain Management and other related areas will be an added value.
  • Ability to use excel, word and outlook
