About the role:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for undertaking, upkeep, and repairing equipment and property at the interior and exterior of Amazi Water HQ premises. Under the supervision of the Facilities Team Lead, the Facilities Technician will liaise as needed with outsourced maintenance and repair suppliers. The Facilities Technician will ensure the reporting of issues and completed tasks to ensure accurate data records for the department.
Core Responsibilities:
Perform electrical, mechanical, and plumbing maintenance and repairs.
Assess air conditioning unit repairs and needs.
Repair & paint doors, windows, walls, roof, and other parts of the building according to the annual plan or ad hoc needs; according to the Facilities Team Lead.
Report any arising needs of maintenance and repair to the Facilities Team Lead.
Perform periodic window cleaning.
Repair office equipment as needed.
Maintain the HQ compound external area according to the annual plan or ad hoc needs according to the Facilities Team Lead.
Supervise the periodic cleaning of tanks.
Analyze Amazi Water appliances issues and report issues to the supervisor.
Hang pictures and whiteboards on walls as needed.
Help in office moving as needed.
Help in event planning and preparation as needed.
Assist Facilities Team Lead in managing contractors for outsourced Facilities projects.
Ensure best safety practices while performing all tasks including the proper use of personal protection equipment.
Report progress on scheduled tasks and projects to the Facilities Team Lead for accurate tracking and data recording.
Any other task as requested by the Facilities Team Lead or her hierarchy.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:
Educational & Professional level required:
High School diploma (A2) in mechanical and electrical section
Fluent in French, Kiswahili, and Kirundi
Fluent English is a plus
Role-Specific Knowledge & Experience:
Proven experience in a similar role
Experience in basic plumbing,
Electrical and Mechanical certified knowledge
